Maha: Marathwada registers 299 new COVID-19 cases, 8 deaths

Aurangabad, Jul 10:The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 299 new cases of COVID-19 and 8 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed topped the list recording 152 new cases and 4 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 47 cases and 3 deaths, Latur had 12 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 52 cases, Nanded had 15 new cases, Parbhani and Jalna had 9 each case and Hingoli nil.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 8,992 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total number of infections in the state to 61,40,968.

The state also registered 200 fresh COVID deaths, taking Maharashtra’s death toll to 1,25,034.

Meanwhile, 10,458 patients recovered in the state during the same time, taking the total number of recoveries to 59,00,440.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96.08 percent while the fatality rate is 2.03 percent.

At present, there are 1,12,231 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centers and hospitals, the health authorities said. (UNI)
