Hyderabad, Jul 9 : Telangana reported 729 new COVID-19 cases Today, to push the cumulative caseload to 6,30,514 till date.

COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,720 after 6 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

A total of 987 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,15,852 constituting a recovery rate of 97.67 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.16 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 10,942 the bulletin said.

As many as 1,06,045 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,135 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 1, 95,93,932 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.(UNI)
