PM remembers late Ram Vilas Paswan on his birth anniversary
New Delhi, Jul 5 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Today remembered Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder late Ram Vilas Paswan on his birth anniversary and described him as one of the most experienced Parliamentarians and administrators of the country.
Taking to twitter, the Prime Minister said, “Today is the birth anniversary of my friend, late Ram Vilas Paswan Ji. I miss his presence greatly. He was one of India’s most experienced Parliamentarians and administrators.”
His contributions to public service and empowering the downtrodden will always be remembered, Mr Modi added in his tweet message.
Paswan, a seasoned politician and parliamentarian was the union minister for consumer affairs, food and public distribution. He died of some cardiac ailment in last October.
The LJP which has six MPs plunged into a crisis after five of its lawmakers, including his brother and nephew, rebelled against the leadership of his son Chirag Paswan.
Though Ram Vilas Paswan had appointed his son as party president but recently, all the MPs from his party chose his brother Pashupati Kumar Paras as the new leader of the parliamentary party leaving Chirag Paswan in the lurch.
PM Modi’s tributes come days after Chirag Paswan expressed disappointment at what he perceived as lack of support from the Prime Minister or the ruling BJP in his fight with uncle Pashupati Paras over control the party.(UNI)
