Marathwada registers 309 new COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths
Aurangabad, Jul 5 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 309 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest 159 new cases and 6 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 25 cases and 3 deaths, Jalna had 11 cases and single death, Hingoli recorded only single death, Osmanabad had 52 cases, Latur had 39 cases, Parbhani had 16 cases and Nanded recorded 7 cases.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 9,336 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative number of infections in the state to 60,98,177.
The state also registered 123 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,23,030.
Meanwhile, a total of 3,378 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,48,693.
The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.
At present there are 1,23,295 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
