Tiger attacks rubber tapping employee in Kerala

Palakkad, Jul 3 : A rubber tapping employee has been attacked by a tiger when he was at work in Uppukulam Kiliyapadath here in this district of Kerala Today.

The thirty-year-old Hussain suffered injuries and he has been admitted to a private hospital at Mannarkad, sources said.

The tiger, which entered the area from adjacent forest, tried to charge him and he narrowly escaped.

Though the presence of the tiger was noticed several times, the forest department authorities did not take any steps to set up a cage to trap the wild animal, locals complained.

The local people in the area also planned to stage a protest march in front of the Uppukulam forest office seeking immediate steps to cage the animal.(UNI)
