Marathwada registers 265 new COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

Aurangabad, Jul 3 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 265 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported the highest 33 new cases and 5 deaths, followed by Jalna which had 14 cases and 3 deaths, Beed had 111 cases and 2 deaths, Osmanabad had 70 cases, Latur had 16 cases, Parbhani had 14 cases, Nanded recorded 6 cases and Hingoli district recorded only single case.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 8,753 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative number of infections in the state to 60,79,352.

The state also registered 156 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,22,353.

Meanwhile, a total of 8,385 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,36,920.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96.01 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.

At present there are 1,16,867 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
