CIDCO housing for all

Thane, Jul 1 : Possession of their dream houses by CIDCO to the successful applicants of 2018 was done at a function in Navi Mumbai Today.
Thane Guardian Minister and UD Minister Ekanth Shinde presided over the function in which Thane MP Rajan Vichare and CIDCO MD and VC Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee were present.
“It is highly appreciable that houses offered by CIDCO are available at affordable rates as compared to other houses in surrounding areas. These houses with excellent construction quality contributes in trust that citizens have on CIDCO. The burden of grants to be provided by the Central government for this scheme is beared by the corporation. CIDCO has kept its promise of providing possession of houses from 1 July 2021″, said Shinde. He quoted this while addressing the ceremony regarding allotment of houses to the successful applicants under 2018 housing scheme. At this function, the flats were handed over to the successful applicants at the auspicious hands of Shri. Eknath Shinde.
While addressing, Shinde applauded CIDCO engineers and officials for working hard even in the pandemic for fast completion of the construction work due to which the dreams of thousands of people to own a rightful home is fulfilled. He also appreciated CIDCO for its valuable contribution in the adverse situation of pandemic by developing COVID centres and hospitals as per the directives of the state government.
While speaking, Dr. Mukherjee mentioned how CIDCO tackled all those hurdles in the development of houses during pandemic and decisions taken for relieving the beneficiaries considering their financial issues against the backdrop of pandemic and lockdown. He also added that this moment of allotting houses to beneficiaries gives the contentment of keeping the promise. He also said that successful applicants will get the possession of houses in phases from today.
CIDCO undertook 14,838 housing scheme in 2018-19 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Houses were developed at 11 locations in 5 nodes of Navi Mumbai such as Ghansoli, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Taloja and Dronagiri through this scheme. Out of these houses, 5,262 houses were made available for Economically Weaker Section and 9,576 houses were made available for Lower Income Group. These are 1 BHK homes with an area of 25.81 sq m for Economically Weaker Section and 29.82 sq m for Lower Income Group.
For Economically Weaker Section, 2,862 houses at Taloja, 684 houses at Kharghar, 324 houses at Kalamboli, 528 houses at Ghansoli and 864 houses at Dronagiri were made available. For Lower Income Group, 5,232 houses at Taloja, 1,260 houses at Kharghar, 582 houses at Kalamboli, 954 houses at Ghansoli and 1,548 houses at Dronagiri were made available. The scheme also introduced an innovative idea of naming the housing complexes after the ragas of Indian Classical Music. The computerized draw of the scheme was successfully completed on 2nd October 2018.(UNI)
