Marathwada registers 324 new COVID-19 cases, 9 deaths

Aurangabad, Jul 2 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 324 new cases of COVID-19 and 9 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported the highest 93 new cases and three deaths, followed by Beed which had 103 cases and 2 deaths, Jalna had 10 cases and 2 deaths, Latur had 35 cases and single death, Hingoli had 4 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 32 cases, Parbhani recorded 20 cases and Nanded district recorded seven cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 9,195 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total number of infections in the state to 60,70,599.

The state also registered 252 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,22,197.

Meanwhile, a total of 8,634 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,28,535.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96.01 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.

At present there are 1,16,667 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
