Thane, Jun 29 : A man and his son sustained severe burn wounds in a cooking gas cylinder explosion and subsequent fire in their house at Chole in Dombivili town of the district on Tuesday.
The incident occurred this evening at around 1730 hours when the women in the house were cooking food, the sources in Kalyan-Dombivili Fire Brigade stated.
According to the sources, the cylinder exploded and caught fire which spread to the entire house in a chawl at Mhasoba Nagar of Chole village.
While other family members ran out of the house, the father-son duo tried to put out the fire and got burned badly.
They were identified as Prakash Kustimiya (70) and his son Arvind (32).
Both have been admitted to the local hospital for treatment.
The firemen put out the fire but the house was totally burnt out, sources added.(UNI)
