Thane, Jun 29 : The Bhiwandi police have registered a criminal case against 25 people for allegedly participating in a bullock fights in the town.
Even as Covid regulations are in place and assembly of people is prohibited, the fights of animals were organized, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team rushed to the scene but upon seeing the police, all the accused ran away with their bullocks.
Offences related to sections 188 and 269 of Indian Penal Code and also relating to Protection of Animals and Disaster Management Act have been registered against the accused.
No arrest has been made so far in this connection, sources added.(UNI)
