Maha: Marathwada registers 331 new COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths

Aurangabad, Jun 28 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 331 new cases of COVID-19 and 14 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest 131 new cases and 4 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 59 cases and 4 deaths, Jalna had 16 cases and 2 deaths, Latur had 48 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 31 cases and single death, Parbhani recorded 36 cases and single death, Nanded district 6 cases and single death Hingoli had 4 cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 9,974 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total number of infections in the state to 60,36,821.

The state also registered 143 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,21,286.

Meanwhile, 8,562 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 57,90,113.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 95.91 per cent while the fatality rate is 2 per cent.

At present, there are 1,22,252 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
