Aurangabad, Jun 19 :Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar Today expressed sorrow over the demise of legendary athlete Milkha Singh.

Mr Pawar, in his tweet, said that he was saddened to learn about the demise of the sports icon, the ‘Flying Sikh’, Milkha Singh.

“Saddened to learn about the demise of legendary athlete, the ‘Flying Sikh’, Milkha Singh. He created multiple records with his speed and spirit and won laurels for our country. His name will be inscribed in gold in sports history. My heartfelt condolences to his grieving family,” he said in a tweet.

Singh breathed his last on Friday night due to post-COVID complications at the age of 91. On June 13, he had lost his wife Nirmal Kaur, a former national volleyball player.(UNI)
