BDL & Indian Army join hands to fight Corona in Secunderabad
Hyderabad, Jun 18 : Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Defence PSU and the Indian Army have joined hands to fight Carona in Secunderabad.
An effort in this direction is the installation of an Oxygen Generator Plant at the Military Hospital in Secunderabad.
BDL, as its CSR initiative, has installed an Oxygen Generator Plant having a capacity of 960 litres per minute, which is equivalent to 170 to 220 cylinders per day, at Military Hospital.
The Oxygen Plant was jointly inaugurated today at Military Hospital by CMD, BDL, Commodore Siddharth Mishra (Retd) and Lt Gen A Arun, GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area. Lt Gen R K Singh, GOC, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, N Srinivasulu, BDL Director (Finance), and senior officials from BDL and Indian Army were present on the occasion.
One of the significant features of the Oxygen Generator Plant is that it has an in-built manifold for secondary oxygen supply to address in case of power failure, unit malfunction etc.
Speaking on the occasion, CMD, BDL Commodore Siddharth Mishra (Retd) stated that this plant will be useful for the needy people and is the first of the four oxygen plants of the same capacity.
The other three are planned at Kondapur Government District Hospital, King Koti Government District Hospital and ESIC Medical College Hospital, Hyderabad. He also stated that these initiatives will go a long way in fighting against Covid-19 in the country, in general and in the state in particular, a BDL release here said on Friday.(UNI)
