Muzigal Boosts India’s First Online Music Learning Platform with Kalaari Capital’s Funding
Hyderabad, Jun 14 : Muzigal, an online music learning platform that connects teachers and students, Today announced its success with more than 20 per cent on-track growth of revenue and new learners.
The company was launched in July 2020 by Dr Lakshminarayana Yeluri to connect students, instructors, professional musicians, and music enthusiasts for online live music lessons.
It launched its operations in August 2020 in the US to help non-resident Indians to learn music virtually with authentic and native language speaking music teachers from India.
In a release, the company said that it is now expanding its presence and has on-boarded more than 400 teachers and conducted over 40,000 classes in subjects ranging from Indian classical to western music in over 20 specializations in vocal and musical instruments categories, the
The students can learn vocal classes like Carnatic and Western music and musical instruments like guitar, piano, sitar, keyboard, and violin, among many others.
Around one lakh students have been counselled, 25,000 students have taken free trial classes to experience the platform and over 10,000 students from ten different countries have enrolled for classes.
In February 2021, Muzigal had raised an undisclosed amount of funds from Kalaari Capital, a venture capital fund investing in early-stage, tech-oriented companies. The Kalaari funds have been deployed to advance the platform, boost hiring requirements and launch the sales and marketing efforts.
Muzigal has emerged as the single-largest musical destination for teachers and students through its one-of-a-kind product-market fit in EdTech, tapping into a 20-billion USD addressable market size globally.
In less than one year, the startup has witnessed high demand for classes, strong student retention, applications from talented teachers and new student interest daily.
