Marathwada region registers 679 new Covid cases, 36 fatalities
Aurangabad, Jun 10 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 679 new cases of COVID-19 and 36 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Latur district was the worst-affected recording 67 new cases and 12 deaths, followed by Aurangabad 148 cases and 8 deaths, Beed had 146 new cases and 7 deaths, Jalna 32 cases and 4 deaths, Osmanabad recorded 119 cases and 2 deaths,Hingoli 3 cases and 2 deaths, Nanded had 138 cases and single death and Parbhani had 30 cases and no death.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 10,989 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the total number of infections in the state to 58,63,880.
The state also registered 261 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,01,833.
Meanwhile,16,379 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 55,97,304.
The state’s recovery rate jumps to 95.45 per cent while the fatality rate stands at 1.74 per cent.
At present, there are 1,61,864 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.(UNI)
