Southwest monsoon lashes different parts across Marathwada region, state
Aurangabad, Jun 10 : South West monsoon reportedly lashed different parts across the Marathwada region as well as in the state.
In Aurangabad district, torrential rains started in Gangapur, Phulambri, Sillod and Vaijapur talukas at around last evening . Heavy rains lashed Golegaon and Undangaon areas in Sillod taluka. As a result, the Sillod-Jalgaon highway near Golegaon was swept away by an alternative bridge on the Juhi river where the bridge work was underway. The city of Aurangabad also received heavy rains.
An 18-year-old girl was killed in a lightning strike at Babhulgaon Tarte in Phulambri taluka, report stated.
Reports reaching from Parbhani stated that rains lashed in many places in the district on yesterday. Lightning strikes and torrential rains have caused waterlogging in low-lying areas of the city, especially in central areas, which have been completely submerged for hours. A large amount of water was flowing from the small bridge over Pingalgad Nala flowing from Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University. As a result, traffic on both sides was completely jammed .
While reports from Beed district stated that Heavy rains lashed Kanherwadi and Nandagaul in Parli taluka of district. An alternative road and bridge from Kanherwadi connecting Parli to Ambajogai was used . As a result, traffic on this road is jammed.
Reports from Hingoli district stated that ,due to the heavy rainfall the river is overflowing at Takalgaon on the Vasmat-Asegaon road in district. The road at this place is closed and the district administration has appealed to the citizens to use alternative routes for transportation.
While in Jalna district of region heavy rains with thunderstorms lashed in Ambad, Mathpimpalgaon, Alamgaon, Tirthpuri and Kumbhar Pimpalgaon in district .
However , Rains also lashed some parts of Badnapur, Bhokardan and Mantha taluka last evening.
Due to the rainfall farmer community are busy with pre sowing activities across the region including purchasing seeds , Fertilisers among other materials for farm purpose,report added.(UNI)
