Finance Ministry releases grant of Rs 854.08 cr to Himachal

Shimla, Jun 9 : The Ministry of Finance has released a grant of Rs 854.08 crore to Himachal Pradesh, taking the total grant received to Rs 2,562.24 crore for April-June 2021 period.
The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, on Tuesday released the 3rd monthly installment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of Rs 9,871 crore for the year 2021-22 to 17 States, sources said Today.
With the release of the 3rd installment, a total amount of Rs 29, 613 crore has been released in the first three months of the current financial year as Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant to the states.
The grants are released as per the recommendations of the Finance Commission in monthly installments to meet the gap in Revenue Accounts of the States post-devolution. The 15th Finance Commission has recommended Post Devolution Release Deficit grants to 17 States”.
As per sources, the Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur had personally taken interest into the early release of the grant to all states including Himachal Pradesh in view of the financial conditions of the states arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.(UNI)
