Vehicle carrying gyletine explodes
Nanded, Jun 1 : A vehicle carrying gelatin sticks exploded on the Mudkhed-Pardi road at a distance of three kilometers from Mudkhed, sustaining one person injured,today.
The vehicle involved in the accident was totally wrecked. The blast caused by a loud sound has damaged the farmers’ land at the site as the tin sheets collapsed. A vehicle transporting gelatin from Bhokar to Vaijapur Pardi via Mudkhed fell off its rear wheel and overturned. The driver of the vehicle was stuck in it. But some nearby farmers pulled him out safely. At that time, the driver noticed that the gelatin in the vehicle was about to ignite soon. He immediately told the farmers and the people in the area to move away and he too ran away. Soon the gelatin truck exploded. The blasts caused a huge pit of twenty to twenty-five feet width where the vehicle overturned in the field. Balu Godwan, a farmer a short distance from the spot, was injured when a stone was blown at him in the blast.
Meanwhile, police inspector Mahesh Sharma of Mudkhed police station rushed to the spot with his force. He reassured the people by allaying the fears of the farmers and laborers created in the area. An inquiry in the matter was underway.
District Special Inspector General of Police Nisar Tamboli, District Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Shewale and Bhokar Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Kabade paid a visit at the spot and inspected the site. Meanwhile, a sniffer dog squad was pressed into service at the site of blasts. A process of filing a case was underway till this evening.(UNI)
