Marathwada region registers 1,394 Covid-19 cases, 72 fatalities

Aurangabad, Jun 1 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra registered 1,394 new cases of COVID-19 and 72 fatalities during the past 24 hours, informed health authorities Today.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Latur district was worst-affected as it recorded 98 new cases and 24 deaths, followed by Beed which had 516 cases and 14 deaths,Aurangabad had 216 new cases and 11 deaths, Jalna 34 cases and 9 deaths ,Osmanabad recorded 291 cases and 8 deaths,Parbhani 54 cases and 3 deaths ,Hingoli had 32 cases and 2 deaths and Nanded had 153 cases and single death .
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 15,077 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 57,46,892.
The state also registered 184 more deaths, taking the death toll to 95,344.
Meanwhile, 33,000 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 53,95,370.
The state’s recovery rate jumps up to 93.88 per cent and the fatality rate is 1.66 per cent.
At present, there are 2,53,367 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
Meanwhile, strict restrictions has been to extended till June 15.(UNI)
