Rajpath Infracon enters Limca Book for constructing 39.69 km road in 24 hrs

Pune, Jun 1 : Pune based Rajpath Infracon, set a world record by constructing a 39.69 km road between Pusegaon and Mhasurne in Satara in 24 hours.
Rajpath Infracon and the Public Works Department greeted the state in a unique way on the occasion of the celebration of Maharashtra’s 61 years of formation (Ekashti).
The Rajapath team was set to construct 30 km of road in a day. However, the team’s morale was so high that they constructed 39.69 km of roads in a day and it was more than what they set. The achievement has been highly appreciated by everyone, said the release.
The road was three and a half meters wide and 39.69 kilometres long. It was Pusegaon, Jaigaon, Aundh, Gopuj, Mhasurne. The work was completed with the help of about 474 workers and 250 vehicles and machinery. This initiative was carried out in compliance with the rules laid down by the Central and State Governments regarding Kovid-19. Also, Rajpath Infracon took care of all precautionary measures.
Public Works Secretary Ulhas Debadwar, Chief Engineer Sada Salunke, Mungliwar, former engineer SP Darade and others inspected the road work and appreciated Rajpath Infracon.
On this occasion, Rajpath Infracon President and Executive Director Jagdish Kadam, Director Mrs Mohana Kadam, Finance Director Dr Rajendra Hiremath, Project Director Shivnath Dhakne, General Manager Rohidas Pisal, Prashant Chavan were present.
Record dedicated to Public Jagdish Kadam said, “Pune-based Rajpath Infracon had got work of the 47 km road from Pusegaon to Mhasurne in Satara district from the Public Works Department under HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model). We decided to pay homage to the state on the occasion of celebrating 61th year of formation and show positivity in this negative environment. We achieved our aim in collaboration with the PWD and completed its resolution to set a world record by constructing 39.69 km of asphalt road in one day. This world record is dedicated to the people of the state.”
Strong support from chief Ministers & other ministers Kadam further added, “We received guidance and strong support from Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Public Works Minister Ashok Chavan and all senior and junior officials of the Public Works Department.
The District Collector of Satara, Superintendent of Police and all departments of the government cooperated well. We worked tirelessly day and night to achieve the World record.
Ulhas Debadwar said, “The work was hampered by the corona. But during this difficult time, such a unique idea was put forward by Jagdish Kadam and Rajpath. If efficient contractors do quality work in less time, the people of the state will get better roads. The quality of these roads is being checked on a regular basis. This initiative of Jagdish Kadam is commendable.”
Micro Planning and execution of record company was set up as a think tank and a war room for this work. The Rajpath team did meticulous planning to implement these record-breaking efforts. The 39.69 km road was divided into six sections. There were separate squads for each episode. A total of 15,000 metric tons of bitumen concrete was used for this work, for which there were eight hot mix plants. Eight pavers, 16 tandem rollers and eight PTRs were used to spread this concrete material. A total of 210 highway tippers were used to transport this material. A total of 79 employees including the project manager, three highway engineers, two quality engineers, two surveyors and 71 employees were in one team. A total of 474 employees of six divisions were deployed for the complete work.(UNI)
