Beed, May 30 : Beed district Collector Ravindra Jagtap Today said that tree plantation campaign will be implemented in the district on World Environment Day falling on June 5.
Mr Jagtap has appealed in his statement to all organizations to implement tree plantation very efficiently in the district.

The Coronavirus disease has infected millions of people worldwide. This year, the second wave has made us all see the plight of patients suffering from lack of oxygen so we all must realise the importance of trees that naturally produce oxygen, he further said.
In order to increase the amount of natural oxygen in the atmosphere, tree planting program will be implemented in the entire Marathwada division to plant and nurture three trees by each person which was suggested by Divisional Commissioner Mr Sunil Kendrekar recently, he said.

In this tree planting program, all the district level agencies will actively participate and implement it efficiently. For this, tree planting and care should be done in all the open spaces in Beed district, he noted.
In this regard, instructions has been issued to all the Deputy Chief Executive Officers, Sub-Divisional Officers, Tehsildars, Group Development Officers and all the Chief Officers of the district to plant three trees per plant. At the Gram Panchayat level in rural areas, each Gram Panchayat has to plant and cultivate three trees per person, he further added.(UNI)
