Jammu based Govt Schools hold Virtual PTM, College discusses “Self Employment Schemes”

Jammu, May 29 : In view of ongoing COVID pandemic, the educational institutions have been holding various interactive sessions and as a part of the exercise, the Jammu based government schools on Saturday organized a virtual Parents teachers Meet where as Government Degree College, Kunjwani discussed ‘self employment schemes’ in a separate webinar.
A mega Parent Teacher Meet was organized by more than 10 thousand government schools of Jammu Division through virtual mode amid the COVID restrictions and in adherence to guidelines and closure of educational institutions.
The teachers were oriented in advance about the issues to be discussed with parents like COVID SoPs, performance/attendance of learners in online classes to mitigate the academic loss, following physical and mental wellness routines/advisories issued by counselling and Fit India cell, academic mentoring for those who are in no network areas via tele-counselling helpline (6006800068) and assistance of parents in providing date of learners for Post Matric Scholarships etc.
Pertinent to mention here that the virtual event was a huge success as parents/guardians joined the interactive session in large numbers.
Director School Education Jammu welcomed the commitment shown by HOIs, teachers and parents who participated in virtual meet and added that such meetings are necessary to keep all stakeholders motivated.
Meanwhile, to enlighten students about entrepreneurship, Government Degree College Kunjwani organized a virtual interactive session on “Self Employment Schemes”.
The programme was organized by Aatam Nirbhar Bharat committee in collaboration with the Psychological cum Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the college under the patronage of the Principal, Dr Anil Kumar Ganjoo.
Gautam Saini, Assistant faculty at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) was the guest speaker on the occasion.
Mr Ganjoo welcomed the guest speaker and expressed gratitude for sparing his valuable time.
The Principal motivated the staff members to organize more such sessions to benefit the students.
The Resource Person, Gautam Saini, in his illuminating lecture, explained in detail about various self-employment schemes like Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFC), Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS), National Minorities Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC).
The session was moderated by Dr Arti Pandoh Gupta, Convener, Psychological cum Career Counselling and Placement Cell, technical support was provided by Prof Deepa Sharma, Convener IT Cell whereas Dr Rohini Jamwal, Convener, Aatam Nirbhar Bharat presented the vote of thanks.(UNI)
