Hyderabad, May 29 :COVID-19 cases declined further in Telangana with the state Today reporting 2,982 fresh cases pushing cumulative cases to 5,74,026 so far..

With the death of 21 patients in the last 24 hours, the toll in the state due to the pandemic now stands at 3,247 translating a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.2 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

As many as 3,837 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to take the total number of recoveries thus far to 5,33,862 constituting a recovery rate of 93 per cent while the national average was 90.8 per cent.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 36,917, the bulletin said.

A total of 1,00677 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,381 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, 1,50,27,996 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin said.(UNI)
