Thane, May 27 : A 42-year-old man was arrested here Today for allegedly killing his elder brother over disputed related to maternal property.

The accused has been identified as Santosh Kadam, a resident of Ulhasnagar town.
Talking to UNI, Ulhasnagar police station senior Inspector R B Kadam stated that the accused and his elder brother Vitthal had a long standing property dispute.
On May 19, an inebriated Santosh was quarrelling with his mother when Vitthal, a rickshaw driver, tried to intervene and calm both of them.
However, the accused also picked up a fight with his brother and intimidated him with dire consequences.
Acting on his threat, Santosh caught hold of his brother in a public square on Wednesday night and assaulted him with an iron rod, stated police.
The victim’s son alerted the police however the accused had killed him by the time cops reached.
Later, the body was sent for post mortem followed by filing of a murder case.(UNI)
