Panaji, May 23 :Goa reported 1621 new cases of Covid 19 and 42 deaths during the last 24 hours.

According to daily bulletin issued by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), with the new cases, number of total confirmed cases in the state increased to 1,46,460 while number of total deaths shot up to 2,383.

There were 2545 recoveries during the last 24 hours which took the number of total recoveries in the state to 1,26,800.

Recovery rate in the state improved to 86.58 per cent.

Today, 1455 new patients were sent for home isolation, 166 were admitted to hospitals while 145 were discharged.

As many as 4568 new samples were tested on Sunday taking the number of total samples tested so far to 7,87,977.

The number of active cases in the state decreased to 17,277.(UNI)
