Vijayawada, May 21 : Registering a huge number of new cases of Coronavirus as well as deaths of patients continued in Andhra Pradesh as 20,937 fresh cases were reported while 104 patients died in a period of 24 hours.
According to a health bulletin here on Friday, 92,231 swab samples were diagnosed in a period of 24 hours ending at 9 am today of which 20,937 patients were tested positive for Coronavirus while 104 more patients died. The pandemic has claimed the lives of 9,904 patients so far in AP. However, as many as 20,811 recovered in a period of 24 hours. There are 2,09,156 active cases in the state now.
Highest number of 17 deaths took place in Chittoor district, 10 deaths each in Vizainagaram, Prakasham, 9 deaths in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari district took place in a period of 24 hours. Highest number of 3,063 fresh cases were reported in Chittoor district and 3475 in East Godavari district.
The total number of positive cases has gone up to 15,42,079 while 13,23,019 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. So far 1,84,35,149 swab samples have been diagnosed in AP.(UNI)
