Thiruvananthapuram, May 20 :Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) MPs and MLAs will witness the swearing-in ceremony of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led new Left Democratic Front (LDF) government virtually this afternoon, considering the COVID-19 situation in the state.
Denying media reports that the UDF was boycotting the swearing-in ceremony, UDF Convenor MM Hassan on Today clarified that “All of us will see the function virtually avoiding physical presence at the Central stadium due to surge in COVID cases and triple lockdown in the state.”
Earlier, Mr Hassan demanded a simple ceremony for the oath taking due to the lockdown.
He also said the UDF will not attend the swearing-in ceremony alleging COVID protocol violation as about 500 people have been invited.(UNI)
