‘Covid cases gradually declined in GHMC with implementation of lockdown’

Hyderabad, May 17 :Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Home Minister Mahammd Mahmood Ali Today said that the new Covid-19 cases were gradually declined in GHMC with the implementation of lockdown and co-ordination among various departments.

Speaking at the review meeting held here, the Ministers said with the proper functioning of Government Hospitals and Basthi Dhawakhanas, door to door fever survey and special sanitation drive the number of positive cases declined, a release said.

Regarding administering 2nd dose, vaccines are not received from the Central government from last 3 days and it is temporarily stopped and will be resumed as and when it received, the Ministers said.

Mr Srinivas said a separated control room is opened in GHMC with No 040-21111111 to know about the Covid-19 information.

Further, the Minister said the citizens are also cooperating with the Government Machinery. With the Monsoon expected in next month, desilting of Nalas should be taken rigorously. Already the Entomoloty wing and EVMD spraying of disinfectant chemical is taking place in a big way to control spread of Covid -19. It is also proposed to the help of Fire Services in this regard.

Many NGO’s providing food to the needy during relaxation of lockdown, for providing food the NGO’s should take prior permission by informing to the local police and appealed to cooperate with the Government in tackling the pandemic, Mr Srinivas added.

Mohd Mahmood Ali said awareness should be created in getting Covid -19 information about Helpline, Control Room.

Further he said the Basti Dhawakhanas functioning for the welfare of the people and instructed to provide oxygen facility in emergency.
The steps being taken by the Telangana Government is model to the other states in the country. In order to provide food facility to the poor and needy, the required quantity of food of Annapurna Canteens is increased.

Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Laxmi said in order to contain the pandemic, strict implementation of lockdown is needed. Isolation centers identified in each circle for use in case of emergency and to improve sanitation efficiency, she would inspect the sanitation works regularly.

Commissioner GHMC Lokesh Kumar, informed the services rendered by the GHMC Control Room.

Collector Hyderabad Ms Swetha Mohanthy provided information about oxygen supply at Main hospitals, emergency drugs, beds availability, beds.

The Superintendents of various hospitals like Gandhi, Fever Hospital, King Koti, Osmania, NIMS, Sarojini Devi Erragadda informed about no of beds, no of positive cases, availability of oxygen, Remdesivir etc., respectively.(UNI)
