Vijayawada, May 17 : The arrested ruling YSRCP rebel MP K Raghurama Krishna Raju was shifted to the Army hospital in Secunderabad Today for medical examination as per the orders of the Supreme court.
Mr.Raghurama Krishna Raju was arrested by the AP CID police in Hyderabad and the court sent him to remand till May 28.
The lawmaker complained to the High Court that he was assaulted while he was in police custody and showed his swollen legs to the judges. However, the medical board appointed by the high court, which conducted medical examinations, certified the injuries did not happen due to thrashing.
On the orders of the Supreme Court, the AP police shifted the arrested MP to the Army hospital in the MP’s car in the evening.
Mr.Raju was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Narasapuram constituency on the YSRCP ticket. However, he differed with the party leadership and started provoking comments on social media. He was arrested on the charges of making obnoxious comments against the government and creating social enmity.
Interestingly, the arrested MP also filed a petition in the CBI court seeking cancellation of bail to AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is facing a trial on corruption cases.(UNI)
