Panaji, May 17 : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday congratulated Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for developing 2-DG anti COVID drug in collaboration with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and termed it a significant milestone for India in the fight against Covid 19.
In a tweet, he said,”A significant milestone for India in the fight against #COVID19. Congratulation to the @DRDO_India team who have developed the 2-DG anti COVID drug in collaboration with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh handed over the first batch of 2-DG anti Covid drug to the Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan after it was released on Monday.
According to Mr Singh the 2-DG drug developed by the DRDO was is a perfect example of India’s scientific prowess and a milestone in the efforts towards self-reliance.(UNI)
