Vijayawada, May 16 :Telugu Desam Party senior leader and Former Home Minister N Chinarajappa today asserted that Narsapuram MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was being victimised by the YSRCP led Government for filing a petition in the CBI court seeking the cancellation of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail.
Mr. Chinarajappa said the ruling YSRCP was going to the extent of conspiring to eliminate Raghurama Raju for his courageous remarks against the YSRCP led Government. No further proof would be needed other than the third-degree methods to say how the YCP regime was bent on taking its revenge regardless of the political repercussions of it.
The former Home Minister appealed to the President of India, the Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker and AP Governor to immediately respond to the custodial violence against the MP. An inquiry by the Central forces should be ordered into third-degree methods used against Mr. Raju, the TDP senior leader demanded.
In a statement here, the TDP leader warned that the Government and the Chief Minister would be held responsible if anything would happen to the life of the Narsapuram MP. The police became like the YCP activists and they were wielding their lathis against the law-abiding citizens instead of ensuring law and order.
Mr. Chinarajappa asked what would be the fate of the common man in AP when a Member of Parliament elected by lakhs of voters was beaten up by the police. It was a fact that Raghurama Krishna Raju sustained injuries in the attack that took place while in the custody of the CID.
He slammed that the AP CID violated the Covid guidelines by going in large crowds to arrest the MP. They committed one more serious offence by using third-degree methods against Mr. Raju.(UNI)
