UP govt fighting against Corona effectively: Yogi
Lucknow, May 16 :Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the battle against Corona is being fought on a war footing and effectively and this is the reason that the active cases of corona in the state are decreasing rapidly.
“Our plans are ready to deal with a possible third wave of Corona. We are working with utmost care. Directives have been issued to form dedicated ICUs to counter the third wave, especially in community health centers, district hospitals and medical colleges for women and children,” Yogi said during his interaction with reporters in Noida today.
Accepting the infection has reached villages CM said that we have to stop the infection. “A strategy for trace, testing and treatment has been prepared for this. If the infected person is identified early and starts prompt treatment, then the case will not be critical. So we are giving them a medical kit along with an antigen test. Even though the RT-PCR test report came later, we are starting treatment,” CM said.
He said that on an average, 2.50 lakh people are being tested daily. Over 45 million tests have been conducted so far. In the first wave of Corona in the state, we had effective control by making team 11, in the second wave, the responsibility of everyone has been fixed by making team-9. This is the reason that in the last 24 hours about 10,000 cases have come, he said.
About vaccination he said around 1.50 crore people in the state have been vaccinated. We are now concentrating on villages. “I have directed that vaccination should be carried out in the common service area in the villages so that the villagers can get themselves registered and then vaccinated. They do not have to go far.
Referring to Noida, he said that while there were more than 10,000 cases on 27 April, today there are less than 400 cases. The number of active cases in the entire state has come down to 1.63 lakh in the last 24 hours.(UNI)
