Lucknow, May 9 : Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) is held by-election for 99 gram Pradhan in 32 districts on Sunday after polling could not be held due to the death of the candidates.

Of the 99 pradhan candidate death, most of the casualties were due to Corona.

While voting will be held today from 0700 hrs to 1800 hrs for this 99-gram pradhan, the counting of votes would be taken up on May 11, sources here today said.

Hundred of teachers and polling personnel have died due to Corona during the four-phase polling for the three-tier panchayat last month.

Kushinagar – 11, Etah – 1, Gorakhpur – 1, Lalitpur – 1, Bhadohi – 3, Barabanki – 7, Firozabad – 2, Kaushambi – 4, Muzaffarnagar – 1, Varanasi – 1, Bahraich – 7, Auraiya – 3, Jalaun – 2, Mirzapur – 4, Banda – 4, Unnao – 8, Ballia – 6, Sitapur – 1, Amethi – 3, Hamirpur – 1, Sambhal – 2, Siddharth Nagar – 1, Kanpur Dehat – 2, Mau – 2, Ambedkar Nagar – 1, Kasganj – 2, Sonbhadra – 5, Basti – 3, Bulandshahar – 4, Farrukhabad – 2, Moradabad – 3 and Aligarh – 2.(UNI)
