Hyderabad, May 3 : As many as 5695 fresh coronavirus cases were registered until 2000 hours on Sunday pushing the cumulative COVID-19 cases to 4,56,485 so far.

With the death of 49 patients due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the death toll till date mounted to 2,417 translating a case fatality rate of 0.52 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to a State Health Department bulletin here today.

A total of 6206 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours to take the overall recoveries thus far to 3,73,933 constituting a recovery rate of 81.91 per cent while the National recovery rate was 81.7 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 80,135, the bulletin said.

Between Saturday and Sunday, 58,742 samples were tested in the state to detect the

contagious virus out of which the results of 3,945 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, about 1.31 crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far

since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.(UNI)
