Nellore, May 4 :In a ghastly accident, five agriculture workers were killed when the tractor trailer, on which they were travelling, plunged into a fish pond at Gollakandukur village in Nellore Rural Mandal today.

Police said that the deceased Paka Krishnaveni (26), Kilari Haribabu (43), Lali Lakshmikanthamma (45), Abbu Kotipenchalaiah (60) and Thandra Venkataramanamma (19) were going to fields on the ill-fated tractor trailer for harvesting crop.

The tractor veered off the road and plunged into a fish pond resulting in the instant death of the five agriculture works.

The police extricated the bodies from the tractor trailer and shifted to the government hospital for post-mortem.

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy visited the scene of the accident.(UNI)
