Sangli, May 1: The Sangli district of Maharashtra reported 1,280 new cases of COVID-19 while 24 people lost their lives, the authorities said in a Friday health bulletin.

The fresh addition took the district tally to 75,678 while the death toll soared to 2,226. As many as 1026 people were cured and discharged during the day, taking the recovery count to 60,264.

The district is currently having 13,148 active cases and out of them total 2,209 positive patients were in serious condition.(UNI)
