Telangana records 7,646 fresh COVID-19 cases, 53 fatalities until Thursday night

Hyderabad, April 30:With no sight of Coronavirus pandemic ebbing anytime soon, Telangana, continuing its record surge in infection cases, recorded 7,646 new COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Thursday to take the case count to 4,35,606 so far.

With the death of 53 patients in the last 24 hours, the COVID death toll in the state now stands at 2,261 translating a case fatality rate of 0.51 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Friday.

As many as 5,926 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to take the total number of recoveries thus far to 3,55,618 constituting a recovery rate of 81.63 per cent while the National average was 82 per cent.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 77,727 the bulletin said.

A total of 77,091 swab samples were tested in the state between Wednesday and Thursday to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 4,492 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, more than 1.29 crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.(UNI)
