‘Cong MLAs to donate 1-month salaries for COVID vaccination’
Aurangabad/Mumbai, April 29: Maharashtra Revenue Minister BalasahebThorat on Thursday declared that he will donate his one year salary to CM relief fund for free vaccination purpose in the state.
MrThorat stated that all the party MLAs in the state will also donate their one month salary in the CM relief fund, which comes to a total of approxRs two crore.
“As a leader of a responsible political party and a public representative, we have decided to extend a helping hand to the state by donating my one year salary to the CM relief fund. Besides this, one month salary of all Congress MLAs will also be given to the fund,” he said.
“Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee also will donate Rs 5 lakh in CM fund,” he added.
Apart from it cost of vaccination of 5,000 employees of the Amrut group of Industries from Sangamner will be donated to CM relief fund, he informed.
He praised the MVA government’s decision to provide free vaccination to all the citizens of the state, even though the state is facing financial difficulties due to the Covid19 crisis.
He further said, “The Covid crisis has taken a serious turn in the country and the state The best preventive measure against corona is to vaccinate all citizens quickly and in a time bound manner.”
He continued, “Congress President Sonia Gandhi and MP Rahul Gandhi had raised the demand for free vaccination of all citizens. Many vaccination campaigns were carried out during the Congress rule at the Centre, and it is well known that the Congress government did not worry about the loss or profit and gave free vaccination to the people by prioritising their health.”
“But the NarendraModi government at the Centre is running away from its responsibility and even in such difficult times, it has passed the responsibility of vaccinations onto the state governments,” he charged.(UNI)
