Hyderabad, April 27 : Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has requested Bharat Biotech Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Krishna Ella to supply more COVID vaccine doses to the state.
In accordance with the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Secretary on Tuesday met Mr Krishna Ella at BRKR Bhavan here.
Mr Kumar, during the meeting, said the Chief Minister has decided to vaccinate the entire population in the state against COVID-19 free of cost.
The Chief Secretary requested Mr Ella to ensure supply of maximum COVID vaccine doses and give priority to Telangana to administer the ‘Covaxin’ to all the people in the state.
Bharat Biotech CMD has responded positively to provide maximum vaccine doses to the state.
Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industry and Dr Sai Prasad, Director Bharat Biotech also present in the meeting, an official release here said.(UNI)
