TRS Foundation day observed amid covid-19 safety protocols

Hyderabad, April 27:  The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party celebrated its 21st foundation day in a low-key affair, the second consecutive year, across Telangana state on Tuesday due to a surge in Covid cases.
TRS secretary General K Keshav Rao hoisted the party flag at Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters, marking the party’s 21st foundation day, amid covid safety protocols.
In last year too, the party also celebrated its foundation day in a low key manner on the first wave of the pandemic.
TRS working president KT Rama Rao had earlier instructed the party cadres to celebrate the party foundation day in a low key affair in the wake of increasing Covid-19 cases in the state.
Based on the instructions, several Ministers and MLAs took part in the celebrations by hosting the party flag in their respective districts without any fanfare keeping in view the grim situation due to coronavirus spread across the country including Telangana.
Taking on micro boggling platform Twitter, MCL K Kavitha said: “Saluting millions of @trspartyonline family for all the hardship and sacrifice that you endured in the last twenty years for the betterment of people of Telangana. #20YearsOfTRS #TRSFormationDay Jai Telangana !! Jai KCR!!.
In a separate tweet, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said it was the Chief Minister’s strong will to achieve the 60-year-old dream of separate Statehood for Telangana that made it possible and extended greetings to the party activists.
Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav after unfurling the party flag at his residence, said Telangana people were happy under the leadership of Chandrashekhar Rao.
In Mahabubnagar, Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud after participating in the foundation day celebrations in the district said that the district would be developed on all fronts in the next five years.
According to the party’s website, the TRS party was founded on April 27, 2001, by KCR with the sole objective of achieving separate statehood for Telangana.(UNI)
