Kakinada, April 22 : The 470 kms cycle rally from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam in protest against the privatization of the steel plant led by MRPS leader Sanjeev has reached this port city on Thursday and local youth accorded them heroic welcome.
The protestors stopped the rally at the city entrance and offered floral tributes to the statues of Dr Ambedkar and Babu Jagajjivan Ram.
Later they submitted a memorandum to the DRO at the collectorate demanding the central government to immediately withdraw the decision to privatize Visakhapatnam steel plant.
Later addressing the local youth , he advised them to involve themselves in the stir against Steel plant privatization .
He deplored that the steel plan achieved by laying down of lives by 32 people was being handed over to corporate companies which needed to be o
pposed tooth and nail by everyone ,he added.(UNI)
