Hamirpur (HP), April 21:  Despite strong steps taken by the authorities, the COVID-19 is spreading fast in the district of Hamirpur as 103 new positive cases have been reported on Wednesday.
CMO, Hamirpur, Dr. RK Agnihotri said that while 36 cases were found positive through the Rapid antigen test, sixty-seven through the RT-PCR test.
He said that most of the new patients were the contacts of old patients detected earlier from different tests.
Agnihotri said that the total number of positive cases was 5,000 out of which there were 881 active cases in the district.
He said that sixty people had died due to the dreaded virus and the number of cured cases was 4,058.
The CMO said that while 829 people were under Home quarantine, fifty-two were getting treatment at district Covid care centers in Hamirpur. (UNI)
