Thane, April 18 : A 15-year-old girl from the powerloom town of Bhiwandi reportedly committed suicide as her mother scolded her, the police said on Sunday.

The Bhoiwada police have sent the body for postmortem and registered a case of accidental death.

The police said that while the girl, a 10th standard student, was at home in the afternoon, she was watching TV and also playing on the mobile. Upon seeing this, her mother scolded her and asked her to do her studies.

The girl got angry over the scolding straight, went upstairs in the house and hanged herself to death by the ceiling fan on Saturday afternoon, police stated.(UNI)
