Thane, April 15: With 5566 new cases in the last 24 hours, a tally has surged to 3,95,690 herein Thane district of Maharashtra, an official said today.

The total number of fatalities has spiked to 6,794 with 33 death cases in the last 24 hours.

The mortality rate was 1.71 percent, he added.

So far, 3,30,876 patients have recuperated from the infection, which took the recovery rate to 83.62 percent. There were 58,020 active cases in the district at present, the official said.



In neighbouring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 61,815 while the death toll was 1,278 he said.(UNI)
