Dharamshala April 13: : The newly elected councilors of Municipal Corporation Dharamshala took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra Rakesh Kumar Prajapati administered the oath to all the councilors in a simple ceremony held in the Cabinet Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Dharamshala.
After taking oath, elections were held for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the cabinet hall of Mini Secretariat. Ward number 3 Onkar Naihari of McLeodganj was unanimously elected Mayor of Municipal Corporation.
For the post of Upmahapour from Ward number 16 Sarve Chand Galotia of Siddhpur and Devendra Jaggi from Ward number 11 Ramnagar contested. In which Sarve Chand Galotia got 11 votes and Devendra Jaggi got 6 votes.
Sarva Chand Galotia was declared victorious on the post of Upmahapour. Subsequently, Mr Prajapati administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mayor Omkar Naihariya and Upmahapour Sarv Chand Galotia. Commissioner Municipal Corporation Pradeep Thakur, ADM Rohit Rathore, ASP Dinesh Kumar, AC Sandeep Sood and others were present on the occasion.(UNI)
