Marathwada records 7,214 Covid-19, 90 deaths

Aurangabad, April 11:  Marathwada region, comprising of eight districts, recorded 7,214 cases of Covid-19 and 90 more deaths in the past 24 hours, health officials said here on Sunday.

These are the highest number of fresh cases registered in the region since more than one-and-half months.

Nanded was the worst affected, which recorded 1,759 cases and 27 deaths, followed by Aurangabad with 1,964 new cases and 25 deaths, Parbhani 684 new cases and 14 deaths, Beed 764 cases and 8 deaths, Latur 1,486 cases and seven deaths, Osmanabad 558 cases, and 7 deaths, Jalna had 652 cases and 2 death’s and Hingoli had 111 cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, a total of 55,411 fresh cases of COVID-19 cases was recorded, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 33,43,951.

The state also registered 309 more deaths, taking the death toll to 57,638.

A total of 53,005 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 27,48,153 across the state.

The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 82.11 percent and the fatality rate is 1.72 percent.

At present there are 5,36,682 active patients across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centers and hospitals, they added.

The state government has imposed strict restrictions and weekend curfew across the state under the initiative of ‘ break the chain ‘.(UNI)
