Bengaluru, April 10:  Calling transport service essential for the smooth functioning of the state, the Karnataka government Today banned the protest of State Road Transport Corporation employees under Industrial Dispute act 1947, saying that strike is illegal when negotiation is going on.
The government also decided to give opportunities to those who had applied for driver-cum-conductor posts and also decided to appoint temporary drivers and conductors by paying Rs 600 per day for drivers and Rs 500 per day to conductors.
KSRTC officials claimed that some of the employees resumed their duty in four divisions.
