73rd Annual Conference of ‘Cardiological Society of India in Hyderabad from Dec 2
Hyderabad, Dec 1 : The 73rd Annual Conference of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI 2021) to be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) here from Dec 2 to 5.
Nearly 1200 cardiologists, scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals from across the country and also from Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, will participate in the 3-day conference over and will deliberate on modern advancements in heart care, said Organizing Secretary Dr Rajendra Kumar Jain, Conference Scientific Chairperson Dr P S Banerjee and CSI President Dr PP Mohanan in a joint press conference held here on Wednesday.
The Covid-19 pandemic has challenged global healthcare to up to the standards, and cardiologists were among those doctors who were pitted against the most challenging scenarios in these times of great distress, they said.
In addition to the novel coronavirus, the world in recent years is witnessing a rise in the instances of young and healthy people falling victims to heart attacks, leading to sudden deaths, they said.
During the conference, Dr Jain said a big discussion will be held on ‘how young deaths are occurring and what is happening and why happening” besides a full debate on the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect heart ailments by using Deep Neural Networks’ (DNN) to reduce burden on cardiologic diseases.
As many as 85 lectures will be taken up during the conference and in which, 50 are virtually and remaining physically with Covid protocols, he said.
By 2030, India would worsen in Heart disease and become a heart hub, he added.
Commenting on the conference, Dr P S Banerjee, said, Cardiological Society of India is always at the forefront in assessing newer challenges before heart specialists and in adapting latest technological and scientific practices to overcome them. The advent of Covid-19 forced cardiologists to evolve better with their approach to treating heart patients infected with the virus.
Additionally, with the support from the scientific community CSI is constantly developing means to detect potential heart risks in advance among people, and this will help reduce the danger among the younger population, he added.
Organizing Chairperson Dr Dayasagar Rao , Dr. Debabrata Roy (Hon General Secretary) and Dr. K. Narasa Raju ( Chairperson Reception Committee) was also present in the conference.(UNI)
