Panaji, Oct 20 : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that 72 per cent of the eligible population has been vaccinated in the state.

Addressing a press conference at the state secretariat, he said, “Seventy two per cent of eligible persons have been vaccinated. Efforts are underway to achieve the target of vaccinating 100 per cent eligible people in the state by October 31, 2021.”

The state government had held three Tika Utsavs, a vaccination drive across the state to inoculate the maximum population.

Till date 1,77,659 people have been infected with the virus, of whom 3354 have succumbed while 1,73,685 have recovered.(UNI)
