3.6k new infections of Covid-19 in Telangana, State sees 18 more deaths
Hyderabad, May 27: Telangana Today recorded 3,614 new cases of Covid-19 and 18 deaths.
The number of active cases has consistently decreased from 80,000 at the beginning of the month to the current active cases of 38,267 registered Today.
With this, the total count of cases now stands at 5,67,517 while the death toll stands at 3,207, state Director of Public Health Department said in a bulletin here.
A total 3,961 patients were declared recovered today , taking the total count of recovered patients to 5,26,043.
The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.56 per cent against the national average of 1.2 per cent while the recovery rate was registered at 92.69 percent against 90 per cent of national average.
Out of 80 active micro containment zones in the state on Thursday, 20 zones alone in Warangal Rural followed by 11 each in Hyderabad and Siddipet and 7 each in Warangal Urgand and Jogulamba Gadwal.
On Thursday, 90,226 samples were tested for coronavirus and with this, Telangana has now completed testing 1.48 crore samples and has reached 3.98 lakh sample testing per million population, the bulletin said.
Out of new Ve+ cases reported in 33 districts in the state on Thursday, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 504 cases followed by Khammam (228), Nalgonda (229), Medchal Malkajgiri ( 204), Karimnagar ( 196) and Rangareddy (192) among other districts.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will chair a crucial cabinet meeting on Sunday afternoon to take a call on extending the lockdown, whether to provide further relaxation or not, measures to be taken to check the spread of Covid-19 cases.
The ongoing lockdown in the state will end on May 30.(UNI)
